2010 Pottery Class Schedule

 

Beginning Throwing:  Thursdays beginning 8 April, 6-9 PM for 6 weeks

 

Intermediate Throwing:   Tuesdays beginning 6 April, 1-4 PM for 4 weeks

                                    Tuesdays beginning 6 April, 6-9 PM for 4 weeks

 

Alternative Firing Workshop: 10, 17, 24, & 25 April 2010 (weather permitting) 10AM-5PM

Pottery Class Definition and Price List

 

Beginning Handbuilding Class:  3 hours per week for 4 weeks, includes 1 bag of clay, glazes, and firing (cone 10 only) for the pieces created during the class with that bag of clay.  Price is $150.  Minimum 3, maximum 6.

 

Beginning Throwing Class:  3 hours per week for 6 weeks, includes 1 bag of clay, glazes, and firing (cone 10 only) for the pieces created during the class with that bag of clay.   Price is $225.  Minimum 3/Maximum 4.

 

Intermediate Throwing Class (experienced throwers):  3 hours per week for 4 weeks, includes 1 bag of clay, glazes, and firing for the pieces created during the class with that clay (Cone 10 only).  Price is $145.  Minimum 3/Maximum 4.

 

Consecutive Intermediate Throwing Class:  3 hours per week for 4 weeks, consecutive with previous class, includes 1 bag of clay, glazes, and firing for the pieces created during the class with that clay (Cone 10 only).  Price is $130.  Additional glazing/firing at a per piece price, based on size.  Minimum 3/Maximum 4.

 

Specialty Class (experienced throwers/handbuilders only):  One 3-hour class.  This could be instruction to create a specific piece like a teapot or specific training, like glaze making.  Each class will be defined when offered.  Price is $45.  Minimum 4/Maximum 8.

 

Alternative Firing Workshop (experienced throwers and handbuilders): 4 days over 3 consecutive weekends, Saturday, Saturday, then Saturday/Sunday, 10-5 each day.   Includes 1 bag of clay, glazing, and firing for pieces created with that clay.  Price is $155.  Additional glazing/firing at a per piece price.  Minimum 4, Maximum 8.

 

Raku Firing (basic instruction only): Glazing and Firing at a per piece price, based on size.  Bring your own pieces to fire or purchase bisque ware.  No minimum, Maximum 8.

 

Alternative Firing (you must have taken the Alternative Firing Class first):  Glazing and Firing at a per piece price, based on size.  Bring your own pieces to fire or purchase bisque ware.  No minimum, Maximum 8.

 

Children’s Classes:  Two hours per week for four weeks.  Includes 1/2 bag of clay, glazing, and firing.  Handbuilding with a small amount of wheel throwing.  Price is $90.  Minimum 4, Maximum 6.

 

Private Classes:  Price is $35 per hour.

For all classes, studio student tools may be used or a tool set can be ordered at an additional cost.  Additional clay is $25 per bag, which includes glazes and firing (cone 10).
